This site arose from a broadcast of television which I looked on Saturday , April 5, 1997 on entitled France 2 " Surprising and funny " animated by Patrick Sébastien. One presented it a document surprising and not funny the whole on the shooting of an American film Dick Powell's " The Conqueror " with, said the presenter, John Wayne and … Steve McQueen! However the cinema enthusiast I am, this association had shocked me, being a fan of both afore-said actors and knowing them no film in common.

Indeed, Steve McQueen had begun his career which in 1955 in a television film and did his 1-st appearance for the cinema next year by representing in the film " Somebody Up There Likes Me " translated by " Marked by the Hatred " in french, a film about Rocky Graziano with Paul Newman. None filmography tells the participation, even representational of Steve McQueen in this film. But we shall return in its subject to the end of this incredible history concerning the film " The Conqueror ", to understand what was able to carry in confusion. I had so dashed in search of information about the subject what asked me more than two months of searches and writings … I had published them in a fanzine of movies tinkered among friends named " Focus ".
